COMPANY RECORD FOR UMEDIA WITH €42 MILLION FOR FILM AND TELEVISION

Umedia has closed its annual fundraising for investment in films and television with €42 million (approximately $45 million) raised via its Belgian tax shelter fund. This is the highest raise in the company’s twelve year history, and 50% higher than its raise in 2014 under the former tax shelter structure.

Films financed in 2015 have been a mix of English and French language films including THE KAISER’S LAST KISS starring Lily James, Jai Courtney and Christopher Plummer, WHAT HAPPENED TO MONDAY starring Noomi Rapace, Glenn Close and Willem Dafoe, and OVERDRIVE starring Scott Eastwood. Four of Umedia’s French language films this year have took over one million tickets at the box office this year, and the company has majority financed and lead produced REZORT, Giuseppe Tornatore’s THE CORRESPONDENCE, and the animated feature DEEP by Julio Soto.

This level of funding will help us continue our expansion and strengthen our position as one of the largest European production companies.
